New neighbors mean change, and in the case of one of our members, a new family next door spelled big opportunity for our Garden Club. Upon learning they were planning extensive landscape changes that included tearing out a mature perennial garden, she asked the homeowners if we could come dig some plants slated for removal, for inclusion in our plant sale.
Happily, the answer was yes, so club members swung into gear. The result? A multitude of big, strong, healthy perennials that will be added to the Plant Sale line-up this Saturday. Members rescued a variety of hosta, daylilies, coral bells, columbine, bluebells, iris, bleeding hearts, ferns, peonies and more.

Look at the size of those pots! There are some big root balls in there.
For gardeners, it can be a little heartbreaking to see a well-tended garden go by the wayside. These plants will live on in new homes and bring joy for years to come. Which will you add to your garden?
